Why does a band play a gig on Christmas day? Is it because they’re so devoted to Jesus that they’re playing a set as some kind of birthday gift to everyone’s favourite carpenter? If not that, then could it be quite the opposite? Maybe they’re so sold to the devil that the only thing that would keep their souls safe for another year is to play a blazing garage rock set right on the birthdate of the “Great Redeemer”. And the Stud do play the Devil’s music; blazing hot with that special sound that gets boys thinking about girls and girls falling into boys arms and just everyone having one more drink because getting pissed when your family is at home worrying about you is sometimes the only thing that really seems right in the world.
