Bringing their brand of sunshine-indie-pop to Comet Club this New Zealand outfit have earned a reputation of putting on a good show. Taking their sound from a whole load of different influences like Cocteau Twins space-pop on “Kenya dig it” to full on tropical, beach music on “Tane Mahuta” to lush, keyboard driven dream-pop like “Closet Astrologer” from their recent record “Fight Softly” ……. phew, I think I just convinced myself to go see this band live for myself. Three bemusing and wonderful albums into their life as The Ruby Suns, these guys seem to be enjoying life and letting it shine through. Summerside. Plus, who doesn’t want to go see a band that dress like this and wear chickens on their heads?
