With their new album, Option Paralysis, due in stores March 23, it’s the perfect time for New Jersey mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan to make it to Berlin, obviously to make a display of exactly how awesome they are.
Famous for a crazed live show as well as their string of much loved albums, their fans are rabid as early as when they hear the first chord struck. Before you head over maybe you should learn some sort of martial art? Maybe that one that the Israeli army uses where every move is basically some sort of death touch. Don’t fuck with the Israeli army and don’t fuck with Dillinger Escape Plan fans, is what I’m trying to communicate to you. They’re both equally as dangerous.
There’s no support band on the night, just some DJs, which at first sounds a bit shit, but it also means that you should be prepared for an extra long set from your headliners for the evening. They’ll play, like, maybe five encores, each one more intense than the last.Even if you’re like me and you don’t stay for encores, you should in this case, Greg Puciato will come after anyone who makes motion to leave before they’re finished. He’ll bash you up and make you eat a crate of unsold vinyl LPs left over from his previous musical project “Black Cheesegrater”. He didn’t tell me any of this stuff, but honestly, we all know it’s true.
Here’s the opening track from the new album, Farewell Mona Lisa:
In Summary: You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll drip blood all over Magnet Club‘s nice wooden floor.
