While they’re probably hanging out around Berlin somewhere, since the word is that they’re recording their third album here, it’s only fair that indie new-wave band the Cinematics do a show. Contributing to the, always lovely, Whip It Good party that features at Magnet Club first Friday of every month.

Alongside the flotilla of DJs supporting the party are The Rural Alberta Advantage, out of Canada, doing an interesting layering of mid-western americana vocals on top of beaty indie pop guitars and drums. Arcade Fire without the pomp. Which is a good thing. We hate pomp.
