By the time Michael Lerner, multi-instrumentalist and drummer/singer of Telekenisis, is finished the opening line of Tokyo I’m already in love with it…and then the guitars get set to skyscrape mode and you take off. It’s the best indie-pop song you’ve heard in ages, trust me.
What little I’ve heard of this band is of no consequence here, it’s the quality of that little that matters. New EP Parallel Seismic Conspiracies appears in the next few days on Merge and contains a cover of Guided By Voices Game of pricks, well, with a title like that who else were they going to cover? I like them even more already, didn’t think it was possible.
