The weather is cooling down and as is always the case, the mood of Berlin is really taking a tumble. People on the street are grumbling at each other, there’s not a human face to be seen on the subway of a morning and shopkeepers are increasingly behaving like you walking in can somehow be translated into an act of random violence. Winter in Berlin is on it’s way.
The perfect time then to check out two of the cities angriest bands, Sissters and Black Magick Ensemble.
Sissters are a Berlin two piece who play music that they want hated by all the people who want to hate you. Bits of it are Big Black, bits of it are Gang Of Four, crystalline vocals and stabby drums. Amazing post-punk and their first LP is just out: There’s A Party In My Mouth But You’re Not Invited.
Black Magick Ensemble are formed from members of doomscape band Reliq along with Johnny Teardrop, French experimental electronic artist. They create dirges for alien funerals and soundtracks for Cthulhu porn; “DMT occult noise” is what they label themselves as, so if you’re into DMT, the occult and noise, then they’re into you.
DJs on the night. 5€. Presented by Blitzgigs.de.
