Japanese post-punk noiseniks Nisennenmondai make it back to Berlin for yet another Festsaal show. This Tokyo three-piece, whose name translates as “computer bug problem of 2000 year”, look like decent, friendly folks, the kind you wouldn’t think would transmutate into ass-kicking, shark-eating, crocodile-punching badasses when they pick up their respective instruments…but that’s exactly what happens when Nisennenmondai take the stage, you have been warned, they’re astonishingly awesome. Compared to bands such as This Heat, Pop Group, Sonic Youth, DNA and Neu, Nisennenmondai are for you if you’re into tantric bass loops underneath ferocious drumming that you can somehow still dance to.
