I don’t want to be the kind of person who says things like “I saw these guys before you even knew who they were”, but really, I saw these guys before you even knew who they were. Really, it was in a room of twenty people on a Wednesday night. The venue even spelled the name wrong, billing them as ‘Overkill River’. Funny.
After a good few years wait since their last proper release (The Stand Ins, 2008), Will Sheff & co finally make it out of the stables with another edition to the catalogue with I Am Very Far, in stores May 6th. Billed as being a departure from their usual summer afternoon anthem vibe, it is a far darker and very different listen to what you might be expecting.
