Berlin’s got a few really strong musical scenes, punk, garage, wave are all more than notable and of course there’s a massive following for anything experimental, minimal or kraut. The kids at Future Days Booking, amSTARt und deli.kolder are completely onto it and after the goodness that was their kraut night last October, they’re back with another installment.
Headlined this time round by German legend Jochen Arbeit of Neubauten (previously), he’ll be doing a guitar drone thing accompanied by Schneider TM, coming from a new generation of musicians pioneering introverted music, Schneider TM is definitely someone who’s earnt their place at the grown-ups table.
Support on the night comes from local heroes of the maniac set Mueran Humanos (previously) who’re getting a lot of attention from listeners both here in Europe and in the States after the release of their debut self titled LP last year. Joining them on the night will be acousticexperimentaldronepsychedelicfromchilltorage act Kulku along with Berlin solo act Pharaoh Chromium aka Ghazi Barakat doing some kind of mutant psych world doom stuff that’s probably not going to anything explainable to anyone who won’t have heard it live.
The marvellously talented Elle Erdman will be improvising an illuminated dance performance live through the night with Steve Morell and Abraxas Rebels working the turntables. Oscar Valentine (8MM, Smoke) is on visuals, check out some of his ace work here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUxgK5Kqabw
A standout night coming out of one of Berlin’s strongest musical perspectives.
