They really could have done better with the name. But the music is pretty good so lets not break out the pitchforks and flaming torches just yet, chasing them out of town is too much that we should do. Japandroids out of sunny Canada hit Berlin, touring on the back of their debut album, Post-Nothing, released middle of last year.
Post-Nothing: A Review In Miniature.
The best thing about the album is that if you’re the kind of person who always feels the urge to pull out noise records in the middle of parties but then you look around after you’ve given spin to the seventh Lightning Bolt single in the row (“a heptaplay!” you exclaim, only confusing people further) and you see people leaving the room and probably the party and there’s some stoner on the couch who’s really digging it but who gives a shit about him anyway, really, if that’s you, Post-Nothing is for your kind of spin since it’s noisy enough to be entertaining for any but the very most discerning of stoners found prostrate on the couch but also poppy enough that it won’t kill the vibe at whatever party it is where you’ve chosen to inflict yourself upon other guests as you become the iPod-Hog you’ve always aspired to be.
Five Stars.
If you want to get your fifteen year old brother into noise and don’t know where to start, here you are. Well done on your this small achievement. You’ll like it too though.
