On January 19th HEIMSPIEL series returns to Alter Roter Roter Löwe Rein for its 21st edition. The upcoming concert features a double gig by Berlin based LAKE FELIX & PÄFGENS.
Being a couple long before they started to play and moved to Berlin, Jana and Filip formed PÄFGENS in Warsaw. Coming from Slovakia originally, they self-record and self-publish their debut-album What Happened to Erich Zederkoff? in the Polish capital. Two more EPs are about to follow, same as their in December 2016 released longplayer Tinyold Hands, first one recorded in a studio during one hour long session in Warsaw.
PÄFGENS create fragile, yet sonically intense music, inspired by lo-fi approach, nomadic lifestyle and field recordings. Dreamy shoegaze meets subtile, almost whisperish vocals, reverbed guitar walls and post-rock bass lines, relics from Filip’s previous music project The Ills.
LAKE FELIX is the highly optimistic name for an itchy-guitar-driven, bumpy try to turn the puddle of all the wayward, ugly creatures, that one can be, to a deep and clear watered lake of shiny little fishes. It’s the name of a berlin-based one-WOMAN-band, making sometimes more epic, sometimes more psychedelic-electronic colored folk-punk-rock, backed by loops of sounds, beats, guitar- and voicescapes and scraps of human being. Loops on guitar and vocals create a rich and sometimes terrifying choir, displaying about every intense notion that a human heart can bear without discarding.
