Singer songwriter Florian Ostertag is playing an exclusive showcase for séjour (French for living room), a Berlin based monthly living room session for up and coming artists. Videos of the séjour events can afterwards be watched on youtube.
Raised in a 400 souls village near Stuttgart, a 16 year old music late bloomer discovered his musical side which he’s been nurturing ever since. He began writing his own songs, founded and played in several bands, worked as a sound engineer and eventually crawled into the recording studio, a specially repurposed fish cellar, with a group of musicians where his first self-produced EP finally put him onto the scene in 2007. Constantly looking for the most perfect song in the world or for the unknown something, he spends most of his time on tour.
Be it on his 2009 debut album The Constant Search (Maria Records) or his recent live EP The Maria Sessions (Maria Records 2012), as support for Philipp Poisel or on his Germany-wide tours, backed by a band or as a one man orchestra: Ostertag moves his audience through beautiful melodies and playful songs. With a blend of perfection, instrumental inventiveness and an easygoingness, he expresses life the way he experiences it: intense, sympathetic and full of ups and downs.
This October is Florian Ostertag goes back to the basics coinciding with his album’s production. No ruckus, no fuss – “New Songs In small Places” is the name of the game, a finely stocked small tour in selected locations at which his melodies will have the first effects in an intimate atmosphere on both sides of the microphone.
