Cranky Booking, Fr Records and Intro is delighted to present Echo Me‘s album release show at Antje Oklesund.

Echo Me’s debut album is released today in Germany by Fr Records and with lead single Left From The Fire sounding like the best indie track since Peter, Bjorn & John did that single a few years ago you’re in for a live treat this evening. The now Berlin-based Jesper Madsen is being joined by his band on their German tour, and with comparisons to Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright pouring in for their debut, those are not bad comparisons for a debut album I’m sure you’ll agree.

It’s going to be a special one with Ned Collette & Wirewalker playing a rare Berlin show and Infants from Copenhagen completing the line-up.

Here’s your Ohrwurm for the week, a classic if ever there should be, Left From The Fire:

Ned Collette + Wirewalker’s latest album 2 came out on Fire Records last August, yet another superb record from one of Australia’s finest musical exports.

Ned Collette moved to Berlin from his native Melbourne over two years ago. A well known and respected singer-songwriter in his own country and in underground circles worldwide, he has toured Europe previously with the likes of Joanna Newsom, Akron/Family, Bill Callahan and Nina Nastasia. His early musical output was based mostly in experimental music, before he gravitated towards more traditional song structures, albeit utilising loops, modern orchestration techniques and musique concrete.

His new album “2″ (his fourth album, second with Wirewalker, but his first outside of Australia) was written mostly during Collette’s first year in the German capital, ’2′ explores themes of distance and restarting, fantasies of death and decline, altering cities and forgotten homes as well as a song about taking up arms against the neighbours. The album also features an instrumental tribute to late Chilean writer Roberto Bolao, named simply “For Roberto”.

Here’s Long You Lie from 2:

Infants, formerly The Enfant & The Quiet, also from Denmark join the line up and will kick things off with their very charming folk-rock. Their only EP to date, Diamond Eyes & Silver Sound, two songs of which are below, is a cracker of an EP:
