CW Stoneking mumbles like a drunk bluesman/hillbilly on stage and you really haven’t got a clue what he’s trying to say but hooly dooly when he sings and plays he can hold a room of 500 people rapt, hanging on every “word” he sings. And he also provides the perfect soundtrack for a room full of 500 drunk people. Bassy isn’t quite that big but it will, however, provide the perfect surroundings for drunk, cheek to cheek dancing with strangers and a bit of fooling around in the darker corners all set to this woozy, boozy bluesey and jazzy music. Phew, I feel light-headed already. Hot dang.

draws influence from pre-war blues, jazz, 1920s calypso, folklore, and personal experience to create his original songs. Accompanied with his trusty National Resophonic guitar and tenor banjo, or with his brass band, the ‘Primitive Horn Orchestra’ Stoneking’s songs range in style from lonesome field holler blues, to hokum blues duets, to full blown jungle epics.
