German seems to be a popular language with some English-speaking bands these days. About two months ago, the Phoenix Foundation released a song called bitte, bitte. Now Chikinki have recorded a song with just that title, a song about an English man who meets a girl at a club in Kreuzberg and takes her home because she says “bitte, bitte”. …. Classic.
Chikinki’s new album is titled Bitten (which judging from the cover is English) – pun intended I suppose. Of course, the album was recorded in Berlin.
On saturday, the band played a free acoustic show at the Ramones Museum. Tonight, they will be hitting the Fritzclub.
