Ceremony (previously) hail from Virginia, US and are the other half of a band that became A Place To Bury Strangers (previously) and yes, Ceremony of course. That band were legendary shoegazers Skywave, they made one great album, split up and made two great bands out of it, in a nutshell of course. Ceremony now explore the more melodic terrain hinted at in Skywave’s output and pay homage at the shoegazer-altar of greatness: MBV, Slowdive, Ride, and all the rest of your favourite shoegaze heroes.
Now they’re back after playing to a packed out King Kong Club last summer and they’re bringing The Lost Rivers from Baden-Wrtemberg along for the ride. Joining them tonight will be special guests, Berlin’s own shoegaze kings, The History Of Colour TV. In short, it’s a Sunday Shoegazer Special.
