A massive night of Americana, post punk and various odd excursions, Knochenbox in Friedrichshain hosts a three band lineup headlined by Berlin’s own sons of roll-your-own blues rock, Boot Heel.
Kind of celebrating July 4th, kind of just doing the Knochenbox thing where everything is not never a happening, the lineup has got a definite cow-punk vibe about it. Massicot out of Geneva do a tropical, post-punk, no-wave thing that’s got a vein of Big Black’s Texas running through it. This tour round they’re joined by none other than the no-other-than Roger Robert, famous for his noise experimental wierd-nessity.
Acoustic duo Bare Trees open and support on the night doing the first in a short run of sets in Berlin. They’re right now showcasing some new material that they’ve worked out, but if you’re already a fan of their smokey older stuff, you’re going to dig the new tracks.
DJ’s on the night, although the advertised appearence of Frankie NYC has been cancelled, he’s stuck in the U.S. and cant make it.
