“Songwriting for me isn’t about presenting myself in a certain type of way, trying to play the right type of music, trying to craft an image which may or may not be successful. It’s about making a connection with an audience and helping them get to know me a bit better. The real me. I’ve got so many stories from my time on the road, some of them scarcely believable, and a lot of my songs have been born out of these experiences – both good and bad. My music is my life in that sense, and that’s what people can expect when they come to see me perform.”
