Svarte Greiner
Using a mixture of electronic synthesis, field-recordings and acoustic instruments, Svarte Greiner plays what has been at times described as “acoustic doom”: calm but menacing pieces of dark atmospheres and somber beats which move and flee through a mist of encompassing drones and samples.
Shackleton
Tapping unusual sounds, atypical of the dubstep genre, Shackleton sounds like nobody else: he eschews the familiar drum tropes of dubstep for African percussion and samples of ethnic vocals, combined with massive, wobbling sub-bass, at times incorporating elements of four to the floor, Basic Channel-style dub techno.
Nadja
Originally began as a solo project by Baker in 2003, Buckareff joined Nadja in 2005 to bring the project out of the studio and into live settings. Together, the duo creates music which has variously been described as ‘ambient doom,’ ‘dreamsludge,’ and ‘metalgaze,’ combining the atmospheric textures and elements of shoegaze and experimental/ambient music with the heaviness and volume of metal and noise music.
Subheim
At times symphonic, at times fragile, Subheim’s concert are mesmerizing experiences which seduce their audience both with the encompassing sonic ingredients as with the daring experiments from which they are drawn. Strings, vocalists, accoustic percussions, found objects have all played a part in Subheim’s music (both in the studio and live). No two shows are the same, for while Subheim’s releases are still few, this musician never ceases to create, experiment and refine his art.
