kigh 050413 443 bw 1 1400x800 Kids In Glass Houses and Canterbury at CometAfter seven years, three albums, thirteen singles, countless headline tours, thousands of satisfied punters and a series of colossal festival appearances, Kids In Glass Houses have finally come home.

Having formed in South Wales in the same fertile scene that also produced the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses rapidly rose to prominence after being championed by their peers as talented newcomers in 2006. By the time of the release of debut album Smart Casual in 2008 on Roadrunner Records, they had a Kerrang! Award nomination and numerous tours already under their collective belt.

Support tours with the likes of Paramore and Fall Out Boy swiftly followed, and before long work had begun on what would become second album Dirt’ Daytime radio play, festival main stages and significant press attention would greet its release in 2010, teeing up their shift into darker territories with the concept album In Gold Blood the following year.

Their latest album Peace was crowd-funded via pledgemusic and released on independent London label Transmission records. It’s a thoroughly modern guitar album.

I’m quite surprised it took them 4 albums to finally go on a headline tour in Europe but here they are at last.

Support comes from fellow Brits Canterbury who are currently working on their new album which they crowdfund via pledgemusic. Canterbury met at boarding school and released their first album as a free download a couple of years ago. Their second full length Heavy In The Day followded in 2012. They describe themselves as a sweet rock band and I guess the term is rather fitting.
