Hearsay is a great thing. Once upon a time, not so very long ago and very, very far away somebody told me to watch out for Ned Collette. I did and found myself in Perth of all places, that’s in Australia kids, waiting eagerly for him and his band to come on. The wait was worth it. Not for a long time had a simple bass, drums and guitar line-up sounded so vital. Energetic, focussed performances like that come along all too rarely and indeed were all too rarely witnessed until next time I saw this line-up in Schokoladen……almost 2 years later at the end of 2009. If you doubt me take a listen to “Come clean” and ” The country with a smile” and I dare you not to get goose bumps imagining these live. Hearsay, it’s grrreat.
