Tame Impala
Tame Impala make psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music. It says so on the tin……whatever the label, I like this band.
With an already sold out show in London’s Cargo, appearances at famous festivals Pukkelpop in Belgium and Lowlands in Holland and also at Germanys Highfields(ahem, where? Ed), this is your only other chance to catch these kids in Germany until the next time when they’ll be much less cool than they are right now!
Why? Well, they’ve been touring with MGMT for one, one of the dude-gods from MGMT has been making guest appearances with them on stage and Pitchfork have picked up on it smugly claiming them for their own.
So, you see no matter how much you actually like the record (to be heard in it’s entireity on their myspace, thanks dudes, Ed) and their Western Australian take on messy stoner-post-shoegaze pop (ha, figure that one out Pitchfork!, Ed) they’re in line to get hyped. But what the hell I suppose, they deserve to get known, I can’t resist those Beatles edges on the vocals that creep in sometimes, deelicious.
Go see them quick before they get ruined by the Hand of Pitchfork!!!!
