Melbourne’s Cut/Copy make ridiculously danceable synthpop. Fact. In Ghost Colours was released in 2008, reached no.1 in Australia, was loved by everyone everywhere else on this planet and began with Feel The Love, one of the most summery, sugary slices of synthgoodness ever produced, happy-sadness never sounded so good, especially on a summery afternoon, preferably in Melbourne if you please.
To follow up this much-loved record they’ve just released Zonoscope which naturally enough is garnering the same kind of praise from all over. As we’re a gig guide I’m not going to waste your time talking about the record when you could be beating a path to your local record shop to pick up the album and then get back home to turn it up loud and practice your dance moves in front of the mirror like any self-respecting music fan would do.
It seems there’s no stopping them from inspiring us all to find some glow sticks, get on our dancing shoes and get to Lido to get sweaty…well at least us at www.blitzgigs.de anyway.
This is Lights & Music live on some TV show in the States, just to remind you that CUT//COPY are a real band with real instruments which makes them even more ace.
