Alela Diane returns with her new record Alela Diane & Wild Divine in tow. In case you’re a part-time Alela fan such as myself and are thinking it’ll just be another folky-dokey record, albeit a great one like the others, well, think again. This record is born of the band she plays with and Alela herself. Diane lets her gorgeous voice take the lead on this record while the playing she hands over to father Tom Menig and husband Tom Bevitori who lead the rest of the band from their guitars respectively. It’s a family affair you could say and from where I’m sitting it looks pretty damn inviting.
Last visit to us here was in the Passionskirche and a lovely evening it was too. Bit of a pity that it’s so expensive this time though but given the weather this week it could be the kind of evening we could all do with wrapped up in our winter scarves and arm in arm with your special lady/man friend…aww shucks.
Here’s Alela doing a live version of Tired Feet:
And here’s Pieces of String cos it’s such a cute video of two little girls having a good muck about in the countryside.
