Another Regular Monday night at Valentin Stberl although this time without the usual Ned Collette performance.
Sean Nicholas McMahon from Melbourne is passing through town and taking time to share some of his excellent songs with you. Having recorded two albums with acclaimed alt-country band Downhills Home, McMahon has recently began releasing under his own name with Western Union, a vioil/double bass trio. Below are some songs of his including one with fellow Melbournian Laura Jean on vocals, great stuff.
William Kudahl Sorensen, pictured above, has been silencing audiences around town for a while now…in a good way that is. His enchanting, spare arrangements of acoustic guitar and melodica coupled with his honeyed voice banish outside noise entirely, draw you effortlessly into the narrative and leave you blinking in amazement at the end. It’s hard to believe he’s only 20 years old.
