Cranky Booking brings you more of the good stuff people have come to expect from us in the shape of Ruins Of Krger and Mute Swimmer this month.
Ruins Of Krger formed a little over a year ago and first debuted their very accomplished live set on May 23rd at the Knochenbox. Those dozen or so songs and the sheer tightness of their performance belies the above facts…this five-piece look like seasoned pros. Made up of four Germans and a Canadian, their drummer is a beast of a player, forming the backbone along with their Canadian bass player, while two guitarists provide a unique blend of sounds ranging and switching between psych, surf, lo-fi and post-punk…throw alternating female/male vocals on top and those present at Knochenbox saw something special. At once you heard whispers of “Pavement”, “Wire” and “Siouxsie & the Banshees” make their way through the impressed crowd.
Don’t miss your chance…here’s some of their songs…and they’re not even the best ones they have:

Guy Dale aka Mute Swimmer takes the stage armed with his impressive arsenal of material. Over six releases of EPs, LPs and outtakes, Guy has let it be known that you will try and fail to categorise his music and is there any better reason to admire someone than that? So, for the sake of giving you an inkling of an idea I’ll use the art-folk tag in this case to describe his music. Why? Because I’ll probably use another one next week after the next time I see him play, which by the way is very regular thing in Berlin, when he’s not off on the road touring that is. He doesn’t stay put on stage either, he likes to explore the space he’s playing in, so he might just start the show in the bar and take you all with him to the main room, who knows, either way you’re in for a treat. Here’s a few of his:
