The Scottish music scene has always been regarded as being one of the best in the world, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol and of course Primal Scream should all run screaming to the top of your mind, but if guitars aren’t your thing, then the Scottronics Festival is for you and your digital inclinations.
A night spread across both the Glasshaus & Badeschiff at Berlin Arena, the lineup is comprised entirely of Scottish local product, the live acts are from Scottland, the DJs are from Scottland, the promoter is probably from Scottland and I’ll be doing my part by drinking scotch and putting on a bad Scottish accent…until someone glasses me, which I’ll probably deserve given how appalling my attempt at impersonating random characters from Trainspotting will undoubtedly be.
Headlined by none other than Christ, featuring one of the founding members of Boards of Canada (there’s another amazing Scottish band for you), and supported by Araya (Benbecula Records) & O.S.T. (Shitkatapult), a night of chilled downtempo and experimental electronica is thereby assembled…roll a spliff and get green and chilled, just like a winter morning in the highlands.
