Awesome post-punk from a band who go right back to the dawn of the genre, Blurt made their debut on Factory Records in the eighties, going on to produce a bunch of albums (I’m really not going to try and say a number, it’s too debatable) and just generally being a band that people are still talking about and referencing 30 years later.
Their lineup has been one of many incarnations, but for their visit to Berlin they come as Ted Milton on alto sax & vocals, Steve Eagles on Guitar and Dave Aylward metronomic on drums. Milton being a founding member, Eagles being longrunning, while Aylward is relatively new after joining the band at around 2009.
The gig is on at the lovely Marie Antoinette’s, where many splendid things are being planned of late.
Supporting are local band Chteau Laut doing their post- & space rock thing, along with DJ Niki Matita & guests.
