I made a promise to myself many years ago that I would never in any way favour any band that has a number in it’s name. That means you Blink 182, Maroon 7, East 17, High 5… It’s now that I realise that I’m not being very fair. Not only have I summarily discounted The Jackson Five & Dirty Three, but I also think these guys are pretty cool: French four piece Tahiti 80.
Formed in 1993 and with six LPs under their collective belt, ending with this year’s The Past, Present & The Possible, the guys make it here to Berlin as part of their six date German tour. Comet Club plays host and is for this night only, destined to be transformed into a temple to laidback 60′s French pop and electro-lounge. And the rare band that’s quite good in spite of having a number-name.
