A man who’s made an indellible mark on the musical life of every indie kid to ever spend their pocket money on a 7″, Morrissey has earned himself various accolades from music publications and is one of Britain’s real national treasures.
I’m pretty sure there’s not been a party I’ve been at without someone pulling out some Smiths or Morrissey solo stuff and the guy has done so much stuff that there’s always something that someone can give a spin to that you’ve never heard before.
His show at Zitadelle Berlin is not one of those nights however. On this night he’ll be playing all his greatest hits and all his best known numbers. There won’t be too many surprises in the songs he’ll pick to play but you probably will be surprised at how many of the words you know and how loudly you’ll be singing along.
He’s a bit of a grumpy git sometimes and has been known to say some stupid shit but it’s undeniable that he’s one of the true entertainers of our time.
