A Belgian cult classic band that really should be high on the list of faves for any post-punk devotee with their clangy mix of Joy Division, Caberet Voltaire and 80′s pessimism & cold war angst, since 1998 De Brassers are playing together again, doing festivals and drip feeding us with limited releases. Which is less than we honestly want, but honestly more than we can expect from a bunch of guys who don’t really owe us anything since En Toen Was Er Niets Meer (1981) is basically one of the most desolate and amazing tracks ever. Which is obviously a good thing if you’re into that sort of thing.
Playing here in Berlin at the perfectly suited Berghain Kantine, De Brassers are supported by ace Berlin post-punk kids Banque Allemande (previously), tickets are cheap at 10€ and you can grab them here.
