Solid ground from Maps & Atlases…
Hovering somewhere in amongst the Deerhoof‘s and the Band Of Horseses of the world, Chicago act Maps & Atlases (previously) are a band for you if you’re into solid songwriting and bouncy indie percussion, even both at the same time. Both of them at the same time admittedly isn’t that hard a thing to accomplish, since songwriting and indie-pop are not at all in opposition with each other, as demonstrated many times before, but they do sometimes trip over each other’s feet, sometimes badly.
The debut album from Maps & Atlases, Perch Patchwork, came out last year and the newest single Living Decorations comes out 14th of this month (Feb 2011). A perfect time for them to grab an evening with you at Festsaal here in Berlin, a perfect time to show off the new single and play a bunch of your favourites from the album.
